From Gibsons to Egmont, hiking to kayaking, this self-guided road trip is the perfect introduction to the Sunshine Coast. Explore the region's expansive beaches, lush rainforest trails, and the eclectic culinary and arts scene along the way.


  • Join local guides on a boat tour through glacial carved fjords, past Malibu Rapids and into Princess Louisa Inlet to explore the iconic Chatterbox Falls.

  • Relax on the many sandy beaches along the coast, or try your hand at stand-up paddle boardingmountain biking, or fishing.

  • Explore the many protected inlets and coves around Sechelt on a half-day sea kayaking tour.

DAY 1: Take the scenic ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) to Langdale (Sunshine Coast) (~40 minutes) | Lunch in Gibsons and time to explore the town | Afternoon hike | Check in to Roberts Creek accommodation | Sunset on the beach. Accommodation: Bed & Breakfast | Meals included: n/a.

DAY 2: Indigenous-led forest walk (1.5 hours) | Free afternoon to explore Roberts Creek, Sechelt, and Gibsons at your leisure | Relax on the beach, hike or bike | Optional tours e.g. Art studio tour or float plane experience | On-site massage available | Breweries and waterfront dining | Overnight in Roberts Creek. DAY 3: Sea kayaking tour in Sechelt Inlet or Halfmoon Bay (half-day) | Free afternoon & overnight in Roberts Creek. Accommodation: Bed & Breakfast | Meals included: Breakfast.

This trip is designed for...

Adults (age 12+) with interests in outdoor adventure and sightseeing. Basic mobility and moderate fitness level is recommended. Listed day tours require comfort around water and spending full or partial days outdoors in potentially inclement weather. All activities are optional and can be tailored to personal preference and ability.



Self-Guided Tours are available from May to October for groups of 2-4 people, based on availability.

This is a self-guided trip and requires use of your own vehicle. If travelling via air into BC, we recommend renting a car from Vancouver International Airport.


The trip itinerary begins on Day 1 at Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal in West Vancouver (about an hours drive from Vancouver International Airport), where you will be booked on a car ferry to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast (40 minute ride).

The trip ends on Day 7 with a ferry ride back to Horseshoe Bay at a time of your choosing. The ferry can also be booked on an alternate day, if you wish to stay longer on the Sunshine Coast. Our team can provide suggestions for pre/post activities here or in Vancouver based on your preferences.
